FOLLOW THE CASH

A profit on paper.
Bills to pay today.

An $80,000 contract costs $7,500 a week for 8 weeks, leaving $20,000 in project profit. Can your cash cover the work before your customer pays? Adjust the deposit to see the difference.

01 / THE OPPORTUNITY

Profit does not show payment timing.

$20,000 in project profit. But wages and materials need paying while the work is happening.

02 / THE PRESSURE

The costs arrive before the balance.

At a 20% deposit, this example falls below its $15,000 cash reserve before the final payment arrives. An extra $14,000 at the start would protect that reserve.

03 / YOUR NEXT MOVE

Test a different deposit.

Increase the deposit in this example to see how payment timing changes the cash balance. Project profit stays the same; the customer would need to agree to new terms.

Cash stays non-negative, but falls below your $15,000 reserve.

Additional funding needed: $0 to avoid negative cash, or $14,000 total to maintain the $15,000 reserve. These are alternative targets, not amounts to add together.

Opening cash $30,000. Deposit collected at the start. Costs of $7,500 paid each week for 8 weeks. Remaining contract payment arrives after costs in week 6. No other cash movements, taxes, or financing. Lowest cash includes the opening balance before the deposit and the balance before the final payment. Negative balances show an unfunded cash gap: paying all modeled costs would require additional funding or agreed changes to payment timing.

Start shows opening cash before the deposit; later rows show weekly costs followed by any customer payment.

YOUR FREE PREVIEW

Could your cash
cover a harder month?

See how weaker sales or higher costs affect your starting figures. Enter monthly revenue, costs, cash, and three customer, supplier, and payroll percentages. Estimates are welcome. Amounts are in US dollars (USD).

The preview calculates in your browser without sending your numbers to a server. If you choose to save a scenario, it stays on this device until browser data is cleared.

Your monthly figures

Revenue is money earned from sales. Operating costs include payroll, suppliers, rent, and other regular expenses. Cash is the money currently available to the business.

How concentrated are sales and costs?

Use percentages from 0 to 100. For example, one customer paying $10,000 of $50,000 revenue is 20%. Supplier and payroll percentages are portions of the operating costs you entered.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What can you check with Outcome Zero?

What is free, and what do I pay for?

The free preview explores your starting numbers. $49 buys one analysis and report from confirmed inputs. Pro costs $79/month and includes unlimited analyses for one business while subscribed. Completed reports stay available after cancellation.

Can it find where my business may be losing money?

Business Review flags patterns worth checking, such as possible duplicate payments, rising unit costs, overlapping subscriptions, overdue invoices, and spending above a project budget. Each finding includes supporting records. You confirm the cause and any savings; the app does not assume every flagged item is waste.

Can I upload my spreadsheets?

Yes. Prepare and review your uploads before choosing a paid analysis: Excel, CSV, PDF, Word DOCX, OpenDocument, and supported text exports. Up to 5 MB and 5,000 reviewed rows per table/import; PDFs up to 30 pages. USD only. Review your column mapping, rows, and totals before saving. Convert formulas to values first. PDF and Word DOCX are supported with a review step; scanned PDFs need OCR first. See import and storage limits →

What do the calculations assume?

Results depend on your inputs and the assumptions shown with each tool. The preview keeps costs fixed unless a scenario changes them. It does not include every tax, financing, or seasonal effect. Its risk score is an illustrative index, not a validated probability. Completed reports preserve the assumptions submitted for that analysis.

Will it improve my profit or cash flow?

Outcome Zero helps you check records and compare modeled scenarios. A flagged payment may be legitimate, and a modeled cash improvement is not a result you have achieved. Any benefit depends on your data, decisions, and what happens in the business. Savings and cash-flow improvements are not guaranteed.

Can I start without a finance team?

The free preview explains its inputs and includes an example business. For a paid analysis, you can review extracted records and correct flagged rows before confirming your inputs. You still decide whether the records are complete and which findings need action.

How are predictions different from scenarios?

Scenario tools calculate what happens under the assumptions you enter. Optional experimental cash and revenue estimates use monthly history and report past-period errors. Late-payment estimates use dated paid-invoice history and may be unavailable when evidence is insufficient. These are statistical estimates, not AI-generated advice or guaranteed outcomes. Explore the prediction example →

Can I try a hire or a price increase?

Try hiring assumptions in the free Hiring preview and price or cost changes in the free dashboard. Your paid business analysis covers the confirmed starting numbers and reviewed records you submit. Pro lets you generate additional reports with revised information. Earlier Deep Scan customers retain their saved decision workspace.

Do I need to connect my bank account?

No bank connection needed. Enter a few basic business numbers to explore your free preview. Purchased reports are saved privately so you can return to them.

How do I get my report?

Sign in, prepare and review your data, then choose a plan. Your completed report appears in Business Analysis and can be downloaded or printed. Earlier Deep Scan purchases still use their original workspace and recovery code.
